Classes Overview | Two Year Olds | Three Year Olds | Four Year Olds
3 year olds are beginning to discover language and are learning to express their emotions with more thought and care. Their individuality is growing, and their creative thought is starting to develop. They are becoming familiar with the ideas of character and pretence – the thoughts and feelings of someone other than themselves - which is an exciting part of childhood development and can be supported and advanced through Drama lessons at this age. Classes encourage students to build confidence in expressing themselves in a creative sense. Attention is given to imagination, the early stages of enacting character, and simple performance concepts. At this level, DRAMARAMA incorporates vocal and listening acting activities, basic combined song and dance routines, an early introduction to stage dialogue, and costume/face painting in the creation of character. Once again the child will experience a familiar and safe environment and routine in which they feel comfortable to explore their imaginations through voice, body, movement, and space. All classes are specifically designed to cover the learning strands included in the New Zealand Early Childhood Education teaching curriculum. 2009 Term Dates NB: Dramarama classes evolve from one lesson to the next. Please note that when enrolling your child you are agreeing to pay & commit to the full term of lessons, and charges will still apply for missed classes or withdrawing your child before the term is complete. Parents are welcome to bring their children along to the first lesson as a trial, for a one off payment of $12.00.
